The ANC's proposed job seekers' grant has been met with far less enthusiasm than the abandoned youth employment subsidy. "The job seekers' grant will have nowhere near the impact the youth wage subsidy would have had," said Adcorp labour market analyst Loane Sharp. "The change from the unemployment subsidy to a job seekers' grant involves such a totally different economic method of working that it's not clear that the ANC has identified the problem of unemployment correctly."

US mobile ad spend surges ahead to become world’s largest: study | Mobile Marketer
United States brands are significantly increasing their spend on mobile advertising, putting the market on track to become the largest mobile ad spend market for the first time this year, according to a new report from eMarketer. Until this year, Japan was the world’s largest market for mobile advertising, with spending on mobile Internet ads in Japan forecast to grow 27.2 percent to $1.74 billion in 2012, versus 35.4 percent growth in 2011. However, mobile advertising spending in the United States is expected to grow 96.6 percent this year for a total of $2.29 billion.

7 Things Your Social Media Consultant Should Tell You | FastCompany
If social media consultants are doing their jobs, they should put themselves out of business. I speak as one of their kind. Before joining Fast Company last spring, I was the social media editor at the New York Daily News. So I'll say it even bolder: At some point, Fast Company should fire me. (Just not too soon, please!) Your company will never be truly social if you silo social activity within a consultant or a staff manager. To facilitate proliferation, your consultant should learn how your company works, then create a strategy to spread social throughout your organization.
